GENERAL MEDICINE with a diabetes focus
A General Practitioner (GP) is a medical doctor who treats acute and chronic illnesses and provides preventive care and health education to patients.
The Diabetic GP Clinic has a team of highly experienced male and female vocationally registered medical doctors who pride themselves on delivering quality, comprehensive medical care to our patients and their families in an environment that is professional and patient focused.
Whilst they're all skilled and passionate about diabetes medicine and medical weight management, each practitioner is highly experienced in all areas of General Practice, catering for all health needs of all women, men and children in the region.
Our GPs are Fellows of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and keep up to date in the latest technologies and therapies - especially when it comes to diabetes care(we're proud to be able to now offer insulin pump-starts and glucose monitoring all from the comfort and convenience of our own clinic).
GPs continue to be a diabetic patient's primary source of care; they are responsible for coordinating diabetes education and management, instigating a course of treatments, reviews to incorporate any developments and lifestyle changes, and provide referrals to appropriate specialists or other health professionals. They are also the key to ensuring all necessary members of the primary care team are informed and up to date on each patient's progress.
A 'patient-first' approach helps our doctors to provide the highest quality of personalised and comprehensive care for the whole person - not just the disease. Our GPs are supported by a team of specialist nurses with diabetes education training, and the knowledge and competence to deliver COMPLETE primary health care for the entire family.
Our GPs are your GPs. We're working just for you, and we're listening.
Medicare assists with a rebate for seeing a General Practitioner, and there may be no Out of Pocket costs for appointments under some care plans. See our Fees and Billings page for more information.
